Well, citizens of Japan, it looks like Boxer and his fighting crew have more on their plate to deal with than before! The book up for discussion features none other than about our favourite Japanese monster, Godzilla, in his fourth issue!
Now I must admit that when this particular series by IDW triggered off, I was a bit skeptical about how the upcoming events in this book would be portrayed. As time, and issues, progressed my mind state about it changed during each issue. The action that corresponds with the Swierczynski’s writing has been on my plus side of things. He was really able to put the infamous monster, as well as the others, in a different spectrum beside the other adaptations connected to Godzilla from the past.
Prior to this issue Boxer and his crew have been on a huge roll, taking down formidable monsters for bounty left and right. Specifically Anguirus, Kumonga, and Battra. Now heading toward Japan, they come across the one and only behemoth,Rodan! As they near Japan, they come across yet another giant monster who together along with Rodan, (Ed. Note) are destroying the landscapre! With new gizmos in their arsenal of weapons, including “headache cannons” and explosives, Boxer and the crew are up for the challenge. Will these new toys be enough for the two giants? Can they also withstand the magnitude of Godzilla’s fury when it comes time to square off?
Dive into the book to solve these questions and more on the big battle between man and monster.
