Author and creator Jeffrey Brown is known for his combination of superb wit and minimal rendering. The majority, if not all, of his books are like this; small in format, ranging from ‘mini-sulk’ to the small-ish format that we get with this latest work. The action and the punchline usually take place within the space of a single panel or page, and are can be super minimal, black and white –or be in full colour! Brown doesn’t stray from what he’s comfortable with very often, but what he has been doing up until has been super successful, so we can’t imagine why he would.
In the book itself Brown has concocted some great scenarios based on the world’s most popular –and infamous, intergalactic father/son duo, Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker.
Like of all of Jeffrey Brown’s work, this one is highly recommended. Brown also does some great work with cats that you should check out as well!
