Reports came in earlier this morning that writer Jeff Lemire would be taking over the series replacing current writer, Ann Nocenti, beginning next year with issue #17.
According to the man himself he couldn’t be more happy! Jeff made the announcement on his blog:
“I couldn’t be more excited about the character and the series and have a bold new direction for the book planned.”
Jeff Lemire began his career as a self-published creator best known for his Essex County Trilogy. He quickly climbed the ranks after his creator owned title Sweet Tooth (published for DC’s Vertigo imprint) began to clean up at shops everywhere, proving his ability carry a title as both writer and artist!
Shortly after DC’s New 52 announcement if was reported that Lemire would be writing both Animal Man and Justice League Dark and both titles have proven the test of ‘rebooting’ and are currently still a part of the New 52 line-up, and don’t worry. Lemire took to Twitter to say that, while Sweet Tooth will end at Issue #40 he will be sticking with Animal Man and JLD “…for a long haul.”
Art for the new Green Arrow will see Andrea Sorrentino (I, Vampire) at the helm, with an “exclusive first look at art” to come. Stand by for that post to drop from the sky and onto DC’s Blog shortly.
