One of the most influential artists of the past 40 years is interviewed by Mike-EL.
Michael Golden first came to fame on Marvel’s Micronauts series; he went on to illustrate classic stories featuring Batman, Spider-Man and co-create Bucky O’Hare and the X-men’s Rogue.
In the 1980s he drew many classic covers for G.I.Joe before settling back onto monthly duties for The ‘Nam.
Golden shattered many of the traditions of American comic book illustration, and was heavily influential in the radical styles of Art Adams and Todd McFarlane (which unfortunately decayed into the Image Comics-style art that followed in their wake).
Often imitated, never duplicated, Michael Golden is truly a modern master.
